Gannet, Sula bassana |
12 records.
Birds, mostly immatures have turned up following northerly gales. In 1971, there were two which turned up in Spring, but usually birds appear in the autumn. The most recent record was a healthy adult, which arrived early afternoon in mid-summer, during a brief period of strong wind. Although frequently resting on the water, the bird was watched plunge-diving and soaring around high over the water.
