The next two photos are of a Black-throated Diver at Paxton Pits a couple of years ago, for comparison
One of the remnants of the influx three weeks ago, this bird was very active, diving frequently.
Grasshopper Warbler, Locustella naevia, Fair Isle, 12 October
This bird gave birders on the island a bit of a panic, before being trapped at Bull's Park and proving to be a late Common Grasshopper Warbler. Nice bird though!
A confiding individual present in a few sparse rose bushes by the lighthouse.
Having seen a pair over nearby Lower Bruckland Trout Farm earlier, we went in to Seaton and found the lonesome third bird still roosting on the side of a block of flats at 10.30am.
